Yes and

The crack in the sidewalk
the turn of the trail
The twist of a tree limb
The topple of a dream

Life is not straight lines
As much as we beg

celebrate

this playful crooked
This constant turn and twist
This dance alive
this pivot and prod
This next wild yes

sunlight dancing on a shimmering leaf

donkey hat and all

Yes and

(what’s next?)

that one thing

This day
do one thing
that most important thing
that thing that you’ve
been putting off
that one thing
that will bring you closer
to that one big goal
that thrills you.
sheets to the wind
arms to the sky
call that person
write that song
say those words
shave that head
what is it…
What would that be for you right now?

dear sweet one

Dear sweet one
Have I told you yet
How precious you are to me?
How your very presence in my life

has burst me into song
flowed rivers of ryhme
Rainbows round every corner

Have I let you in

on the constant mundane sacredness I find
In that soul-stirring yes of your being
Just you being you?

How it brings me to my knees in wonder
under the sun filled blue

Seeing the dance of light
In every sparkling leaf

every reflection?

All In sheer remembrance
of that one drop
that
Annihilated

my reasonable mind.

super moon

let the powers that be
be the power you are.

moon on dark water

moon on dark water

let the peace in.

start now.

let go of the fear,
well at least that one, and this one
and then this next one…

hold yourself accountable
for peace
your own personal peace
and let the new world begin.

super moon your own centripetal force
and allow the power inside
to come forth into being.

the river run

the colors changing, waters flow
the seasons the changing fast and slow
all changing
again again

gratitude for the choices
the will the willies the wishes
gratitude
for the folly flopping frolic of it all
to make my way lightly
on these measured moments
in simple care

gratitude for this yes and no
to right and left
the tests and trembles
gratitude you winding river life
yes yes yes
this simple solitary ripple rising
full forced we together
gratitude.

wordless

It’s no secret reflection
blessed or tortured
there’s no barb-wire fence
between the lines of my brow
and the lines of time

you want joy
you know it’s power
it’s not an option to fail
it is an option to choose
and choose again

But a person must
want to see
notice
witness
acknowledge
be willing
to open.

let stillness be
let it seep in
that baseline reality
that sneaky shy one
it’s there when all the rest falls away
they call it love
because they have no other word for it.

Those little thoughts

Those little thoughts
they buzz around
they say this and that to me…
you’re no good
because of this and that
you never…
you always…
you should…
you shouldn’t…
the list is endless.

sometimes I believe them.

sometimes they swarm over me
like mosquitoes on a warm summer eve by the lake in Wisconsin.

sometimes Screenshot 2016-06-02 09.34.23
I catch them,
give them a big ol’ bear hug
and send them on their way
like little children who just needed
to know someone
somewhere
cared.

thank you

It pours forth
every breath holdsScreenshot 2016-05-11 07.01.27
a new universe

It pours forth
every movement holds
a new possibility

It pours forth
every thought holds
a new opening

the roaring river of my moments
pours forth
rain and sun on bright waters

and all my lips can utter is
a humbled
and ever present
thank you.
